Fuel-efficient Subcompact a Favorite

With the Yaris, Toyota offers a fuel-efficient subcompact that is both stylish and a good value, and also easy to maneuver in a crowded parking lot. The Yaris comes in three body styles: the two-door model with a lift back, the four-door sedan and the current-generation five-door lift back with automatic transmission. Yaris is the only model line in the subcompact field to offer three body styles. No matter the style, the Yaris brings value and peppy performance in a safe design.

Yaris delivers nimbleness and high fuel economy

The Toyota Yaris, the brand's fun, efficient subcompact model, delivers the nimbleness and high fuel economy that make it an ideal commuter vehicle. The Yaris is offered in three-door or five-door liftback models in the L and LE grades, and in the five-door liftback only in the sporty SE grade. Price-conscious shoppers will appreciate all the features on this comprehensively equipped small car with big fuel economy numbers and a roomy interior.

During our testing we found the frontMacPherson-strut and rear torsion-beam suspension systems were tuned to deliver a smooth ride and engaging driving feel. Electric power steering provided a good road feel at highway speeds while aiding low-speed parking maneuvers. The ride was smooth, and the Yaris L and LE come with 15-inch wheels as standard, while the SE rolls on 16-inch alloy wheels. The Yaris has a curb-to-curb turning diameter of 30.8 feet.

The interior offers a host of standard features including electric power steering, power door locks and a Cold Weather. Package. Other standards include air conditioning, six cup and bottle holders and storage cover for the cargo area, and safety features including nine airbags.
