Features:
The Corolla Hybrid is offered in the LE Grade, and it has a unique look compared to gas-only powered Corollas, the hybrid sedan gets its own 15-inch aluminum wheels and special badging. Another hybrid exclusive is a 7-inch display in the instrument cluster that shows battery charge, hybrid-system graphics, and "eco accelerator guidance," which coaches the driver on the best pedal operation to maximize efficiency. Every Corolla hybrid has an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Wi-Fi connectivity, and Amazon Alexa integration.

Storage:
Because the battery pack is under the rear seats, trunk space is similar to the gas models. The rear seatbacks fold flat and back seat passengers have good leg room. So, the storage space is not compromised.

Safety:
Standard on the Corolla Hybrid is Toyota Safety Sense 2.0, which bundles safety technologies including Pre-Collision System, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert with Steer Assist; Lane Tracing Assist; Automatic High Beams; Road Sign Assist and Brake Hold.

Performance:
The Corolla Hybrid's power system combines a 1.8-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with two motor/generators through an electronically controlled planetary-type continuously variable transmission (CVT) transaxle. Combined system output of 121 horsepower results in responsive performance. During performance testing the Corolla Hybrid went from zero to 60 mph in 7.9 seconds and had a highway passing time of 4.3 seconds. It ran the quarter mile in 15.8 seconds at 91 mph at the finish line. The electric drive definitely gives the Corolla Hybrid great acceleration from a standing start.

Fuel Economy:
Regarding fuel economy, the Corolla Hybrid offers EPA ratings of 53 miles per gallon city, 52 highway and 52 combined. Our driving test showed an as-tested actual combined fuel economy of 55.2 miles per gallon.

Operational Modes:
Forward of the Corolla Hybrid's gear shifter is a button for the EV mode for pure electric driving for short distances, as well as a Mode button to select Normal, Eco and Sport operation.
