Honda is expected to bring back the Passport and the model could be in dealerships as early as 2019, Automotive News reported.
The report says the Passport will be inserted between the CR-V and Pilot. Dealers had been pressing Honda for a near-premium crossover, a segment that has been growing in recent years. U.S. sales of the Honda Pilot, HR-V and CR-V grew 5 percent in 2017.
A spokesman would neither confirm or deny the report from Automotive News about the relaunch of the Passport. The Passport was Honda's first SUV in 1994 and was pulled from the lineup in 2002.
Honda is expected to be shown at the dealership meeting in November with a public debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the publication reported.
