Viewers are checking out the new review of the 2019 Toyota Avalon that is now streaming on dealership websites that subscribe to VehicleTEST’s Toyota video package.
Tested in late summer on the East Coast, the fifth-generation Avalon came with a 301-horsepower V6 engine as part of the top-of-the-line Limited. The model is also available in XSE, Touring and XLE.
Putting the car through its paces, the Avalon went from zero to 60 mph in 6.1 seconds and had a highway passing time of 4.1 seconds, and it ran the quarter mile in 14.1 seconds at 125 mph at the end. Fuel economy numbers were equally as impressive. Our driving test showed an as-tested actual combined fuel economy of 28.1 miles per gallon, which is 12.4 percent better than the EPA estimate.
The Avalon also comes with top-notch safety equipment for the driver, such as the Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Every Avalon comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense P. TSS-P bundles cutting edge active safety technologies including Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist; and Automatic High Beams. Additional standard safety technology includes the rearview camera Back Guide Monitor.
